Have y'all heard of the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens? It's seriously a must-visit spot in NYC.

When I went there recently for the Only in New York podcast, I was blown away by all the amazing exhibits and activities.

One of the coolest things they have is a section where you can create your own stop-motion animation! They have all the tools and equipment you need to make something really special.

And for all my fellow movie buffs out there, they have a whole area dedicated to the history of film and television. You can learn about everything from the first films ever made to the latest blockbusters.

But don't worry if you're not a film buff – there's something for everyone here! They have interactive exhibits on video games, music videos, and more.

Make sure to check out the Behind the Screen exhibit, too – it takes you through the entire process of making a movie, from writing the script to editing the final cut.

History

The Museum of the Moving Image was founded in 1988 by Rochelle Slovin, who wanted to create a space dedicated to the art, history, and technology of moving images. It started out in a single building, but has since expanded to two buildings with a total of 97,000 square feet of space!

Over the years, the museum has hosted countless screenings, exhibitions, and events. It's become a hub for filmmakers, scholars, and fans of the moving image from all over the world.
